This is about a boy that finds himself on a life boat with a tiger for nearly a year. It's about his thoughts on survival and his adventure.
I found this book, although an excellent story line, at times quite tedious to read. However, I think that this is partly down to that I had seen the film and was waiting for parts to turn up in the book where I expected them rather than just read it for what it was. There were, as always, parts of the books that were not included in the film, which was a shame, because these parts were equally has intriguing.
It was interesting to be able to read the thought process, although fictional, of the survival tactics of Pi. And it did make me question "what would I do?" while reading this book, would I have fought so much for survival? would I have done things differently? would I have been so imaginative with objects to aid in my survival? and most of all, would I have been as brave with a tiger in the boat?
Date finished: 9th August 2013
